 Foster Parent Program

WHAT IS FOSTER PARENTING?
Foster parents provide a temporary home for children whose biological parents are unable to care for them. Children remain in foster care until they can return to their own parents or until other permanent placements, such as adoption, are made.

Foster Parents:
Meet the child's daily physical and emotional needs
Coordinate with medical, dental, school, and social services person
Provide recreational and enrichment activities
Facilitate the child's visits with birth parents
Work with a team regarding the best plan for the child

Foster parenting is a challenging and rewarding role
