WHAT IS FOSTER PARENTING? Foster parents provide a temporary home for children whose biological parents are
unable to care for them. Children remain in foster care until they can return to their own
parents or until other permanent placements, such as adoption, are made.
Foster Parents:
Meet the child's daily physical and emotional needs
Coordinate with medical, dental, school, and social services person
Provide recreational and enrichment activities
Facilitate the child's visits with birth parents
Work with a team regarding the best plan for the child

Family Counseling and Children's Services has offered Foster Care Services since
1968. Our Foster Care staff are professionals with Bachelors or Masters degrees in Social
Work and extensive experience in their field.
