of Lenawee County, founded in 1960, has a mission "to offer services & engage in
activities which strengthen the lives of families and individuals who live and work in
Lenawee County and the surrounding area." |
The Agency consists of nine programs: Adoption, Catherine Cobb Domestic Violence Program, Domestic Violence Alternative Program (DVAP), Family Services, Foster Care, Healthy Moms/Happy Babies, SAFE, School Success, and WrapAround. |
 In 1999, this United Way funded agency served as follows:~ 37 children supported & nurtured through Foster Care ~ 17 children placed in loving families through Adoption ~ 83 Babies born to Healthy Moms/Happy Babies clients ~ Healthy Moms/Happy Babies provided 488 translation services ~ Healthy Moms/Happy Babies provided 1,848 transports ~ Catherine Cobb Domestic Violence Program provided a safe environment for 160 families ~ Domestice Violence Alternative Program provided education for 40+ men each week ~ 50 children and families remained together through WrapAround ~ 20 families participate in School Success ~ 1,200 students participated in Postponing Sexual Involvement - SAFE ~ 6,200 students listened to Pam Stenzel, an international speaker, talk about sexually transmitted diseases and how they can affect your life - sponsered by the Postponing Sexual Involvement program and the Lenawee Teen Pregnancy Coalition ~ clients (individuals, families, couples, and groups) received 4,000 sessions of counseling
