emotional, social, medical, educational, relationship, and/or future plan.
Through counseling, we help individuals and families face an
unplanned pregnancy in the most helpful ways possible. |

Pregnancy
Counseling at Family Counseling and Children's Services includes: 1) Quick
response to needs; 2) Help securing financial assistance; 3) Assistance
with parenting issues; 4) Home visits when needed; 5) Services to birth
mothers, birth fathers, and families; and, 6) Supportive counseling
offered during pregnancy and following birth. There may be a need for
counseling around plans for the child. We will help explore alternatives. |

If adoption is being considered as an
alternative, the following types of adoption are available: 1) Traditional Adoption
[identities remain confidential]; 2) Semi-Open Adoption [birth parents and
adoptive parents may meet with no identifying information exchanged]; 3) Open Adoption [birth parents may meet and
exchange identifying information with the adoptive family]; and, 4)
Designated Adoption [birth parents
preselect a family].
Birth parents are encouraged to participate in the selection
of the adoptive family. |
