We have offered pregnancy counseling and adoption services since 1968. Our Pregnancy Counseling Staff are professionals with Bachelors or Masters degrees in Social Work and extensive experience in their field.

Unplanned pregnancies can create many stressors, such as: financial, vocational, emotional, social, medical, educational, relationship, and/or future plan. Through counseling, we help individuals and families face an unplanned pregnancy in the most helpful ways possible.

Pregnancy Counseling at Family Counseling and Children's Services includes: 1) Quick response to needs; 2) Help securing financial assistance; 3) Assistance with parenting issues; 4) Home visits when needed; 5) Services to birth mothers, birth fathers, and families; and, 6) Supportive counseling offered during pregnancy and following birth. There may be a need for counseling around plans for the child. We will help explore alternatives.

If adoption is being considered as an alternative, the following types of adoption are available: 1) Traditional Adoption [identities remain confidential]; 2) Semi-Open Adoption [birth parents and adoptive parents may meet with no identifying information exchanged]; 3) Open Adoption [birth parents may meet and exchange identifying information with the adoptive family]; and, 4) Designated Adoption [birth parents preselect a family]. Birth parents are encouraged to participate in the selection of the adoptive family.
